Fllooding-Act of God

Floods are caused by a variety of factors, some obvious causes of floods are heavy rains, melting snow and ice and frequent storms within a short time duration. Flooding is sometimes caused by excessive rains in low-lying areas. In many countries flooding is seasonal and clearly man has no control over the seasons. Flooding often occurs in the coastal areas due to natural causes. The earth has seven oceans that cover almost three-fourths of its surface. Naturally, wind and other events caused ocean water to sometimes overflow. When this happens, flooding on the shores occurs. Flooding is therefore an act of nature not of mankind. One cannot blame mankind for forces over which he has no control .What mankind can do however is prepare for floods since he can predict when the flooding season will begin ; in so doing the losses in terms of lives and resources can be minimized
